When I read this post a few days back, it really made me think. It's ten days until my sixteenth birthday, and I wanted to do something extraordinary- something totally new and super creative and awesome. Every day, I've been thinking, it's a day closer to me being sixteen, so I must do something special, something different. I have to admit, it's hard to hear about wonderful surprise parties and brand new cars. It just seems like when people turn sixteen, they change. It's important, yes: it's a whole new year of life, but it's frightening, in some ways.
When I turn sixteen, a lot of things are going to happen. I'll begin to get caught up in new relationships and drive everywhere, I'll meet new people, continue my blogging experience and ultimately, further discover who I am. (Oh gosh, I just realized that so many things are going to happen.)
So, I've decided that my resolution for being sixteen is to take pleasure in the ordinary- something many of us take for granted.
The fact that my best friend calls me every week, sunny mornings through my bedroom window, random dinner outings on the weekends, the days we spend with Daddy, seeing my dog every day, the stars twinkling above me every night and car rides through the city: these things are the ordinary.
I plan to capture these every day occurrences and make an effort to appreciate them more.
A list of things I plan to do while being sixteen:
-take pictures of everyone and everything
-make new friends
-drive myself to school
-meet a blog friend
-get a new hairstyle
-get braces off
-do a hired photoshoot
Yay! Ten more days :)
