The things that I have done this past week have been wonderful. Walking into Memaw and Papaw's house just gives me an everything feeling. There's always someone in the kitchen- always little sweets placed on a table or counter. Memaw is the one who taught me to crochet, so we have rounds of quiet crocheting at night with dim lights and the TV on everyone's favorite channel. During the day, with wii remotes in our hands, we play rounds of mariokart in socks and with messy hair. And weenie roasting either inside or outside has become a family tradition. The sizzling of jalapeño hot dogs, the crackling of fire, the melting of s'mores accompanied by sticky fingers and the warmth of it all creates the best feeling. Also, thrifting has now become a new tradition between Memaw and I, which makes me very happy. And for the first time, we visited my aunt Lisa and uncle Patty's house which makes me smile at the thought of a first home.

My first sort-of photoshoot of the family took place and in this past week I've developed my love for photography so much more. I miss things like this. Sitting with the family and crocheting- just having little conversations with a fire crackling by my side. And since it's the new year, I've decided to tone down school a bit more. I've been perfecting things too much and taking them a bit too seriously, and I know it's more important to pursue what I really love. It's sort of like a new start with a new camera in my hand, which I believe are two very inspiring things.

love, ryan

  3. That's nice, to just be with family...Yes, I take school very seriously and I'm only in the 7th grade. *nods* I want to get into a good college, someday. I also push myself a lot...I know I shouldn't take it that seriously and honestly, I'm not even one of those "genius kids." But my friend says that we should enjoy middle school while it lasts because I hear that high school is gonna be pretty hard...

    Smile,

    1. Oh, I say that about every school year. The truth is, it's only as hard as you make it. Just keep your head up and you'll be fine :)
